Many of the 336 recipes are modern (from the early 1900's) and some, the author thought worthy of preserving, were over 100 years old at the time of writing.
The major divisions in the book are: Soups, Meats, Hashes, Vegetables; Puddings, Pies and Salads; Breads; Cake; Preserved Fruits, Jellies; Pickles, Lotions and Miscellaneous.
